No, actually that is pretty reasonable but I would suggest gettinng a CARFAX report before buying. You never know! If you don't buy new then you are adopting the problems of previous owners. If it is a Honda Certified Used car then you are getting a good deal; however, if it is a private dealer then you may want to have an independent mechanic check it out.

look up the value on www.nada.com.....88xxx miles is nothing for a Honda....national average is 15xxx per year thus it should have105xxx miles....with gas over $3/gal. think of how much you drive and how much you will save....you blazer probably gets no more than 20mpg and the accord will get at least in the upper 20's

The price for the Honda Accord seems high unless it is an EX-V6 Coupe model. If your buy the Accord beware that it will need a new timing belt at 90,000 miles. If the belt breaks, the resulting repair will be thousands of $$. I would negotiate the timing belt and associated water pump into the purchase price and this way you can finance it, if you need to. In my experience a properly cared for Honda will generally run 200,000-250,000 miles before major repairs are needed. Best advise is to have a Honda specialist go through the vehicle before purchase.

I agree with everyone. For a Honda that's cheap. You can find a better price if it's salvage title though (roughly $6500-$7000) and around $7500-$8000 for clean title. The mileage is still good. Just make sure to check for maintenance (oil, ac, tires, air filter, etc.). Sell the blazer private party rather than trade-in. You get more out of it. Use craigslist.org to post a free ad in your state and city.

Honda's are renowned for their long engine life, typically 150-200k before major repairs are necessary. With only 88k on the odometer the car still has approximately half it's life left.

That is low miles for a Honda.

Make SURE the car is checked out independently(also get a carfax, NOT at your expense), you take a minimum of a 30-minute drive(city AND hwy), and check that everything works from the horn to the A/C, etc.

Good Luck!

for your best estimate. visit www.kbb.com and get a private party value on the car. otherwise figure a good amount of miles on a car is between 12000-14000 per year. That is what some insurance companies use as their discount guide for insurance.

A well maintained honda can last a couple hundred thousand miles. Blazers don't.

I would make sure that the previous owner of the Accord has kept up with the maintenance and you should be able to haggle to get the price down even a little lower but it will probably be more reliable than the Blazer.

Milleage is not the issue-the big question is how well has the car been maintained? That should be your major concern.

And by the way, 88,000 miles on a car that is 7 years old is not bad at all in my opinion. If the car has been taken care of - oil changed regularly and the stuff at 88,000 its just getting started. There is no reason it shouldnt last till 200,000 miles with proper care.

Now if it was 88,000 on a car that was only 2 years old i would be very concerned and probably pass on it.

It's not uncommon to have a high miles vehicle today. I think what you're paying for in the Accord is the name. It's a popular model. And with the "Fast and Furious" generation, you never know how the engine was treated. I say keep shopping, and don't fall in love with the first car that comes along.

Hondas have a good reputation but on a car like this regular servicing & oil changes are all important so check it has a recorded service history, I always judge the current owner if they seem the meticulous type who saves all the receipts for everything all the better.

If the Blazer is paid-for, drive it until it drops. It's good for another 100K if you are keeping it maintained. To value the Honda, go to www.kbb.com
