I am thinking about buying a new Honda FIT (http://fit.honda.com)
The only thing that is slowing me down, is that it does not come with a Navigation System. I aksed them if they could install it, or if I could do it Aftermarket, and they said "not according to my sales manager".

So my question is:
Would I still be able to get an Aftermarket In-Dash Navigation System?
Also, would it still let me control my iPod with the car's stereo controls (Hond iPod link feature)?

Ok, looking at the pics of the dash on a couple websites it looks like the stereo is semi-integrated into the dash but there is a seam around it so i would imagine that dash kits will be coming out soon from metra or schosche. When they do you'll be able to buy any in dash navigation system. Some good ones are the Pioneer Avic N-3 (Single Din) and the Pioneer Avic D-2 and Z-1 (double din). Give it a month or two and check with your local audio retailer to see if they carry dash kits for it and you should be set. Good luck\.

Edit: Also, all of the pioneers have an optional ipod interface for $50 that allows you to control the ipod with the touch screen. All your tracks and folders will show up on the screen, it works very well.

Pioneer has a very nice in-dash DVD navigation system (radio too) that should fit into a standard single din dash unit. The thing is close to $2000 though, so not a real good thing to put into a Fit per say.

Do you need the car now? The fit might be coming out with a NAV as option next year because the European and Asia version has that as an option, so it's definitely something that might be carried over to the U.S. if demand is high enough.

elementary navigation is unfastened. the satellites the gps systems use are maintained by using the government. now there are top rate centers that are accessible that do value money. you're able to desire to pay for stay site visitors updates. in my view till you're a business enterprise/sales guy or woman that has to make it to a gaggle of distinctive places in the time of the day i might say forget on the subject of the stay site visitors updates. i've got used the two the pioneer and the alpine systems in my vehicles. i cherished the pioneer nav greater effective, it grew to become into much less complicated to apply, yet i cherished the way the alpine sounded greater effective.

probably not in dash, but you can get window ones for like 600 that are real good, they often get better consumer rankings, and if you have multiple cars, you don't need to keep on buying it with each car
