I want to know if it is possible to build a k20a to be faster then a 2006 Benz CL500? like all the reasonable upgrades. Money wouldn't be the problem. And if u can, please say a few things that are needed to achieve this goal

Don't listen to the moron who just posted. He's just out to pick a fight.

Long story short...YES you can be faster...MUCH FASTER. Anything with four wheels can be modified actually. ANYTHING can be made fast. In this case it wouldn't take much.

The CL500 Weighs 4085lbs and only has 302hp...which gives it a pretty awful power to weight ratio of 13.5lbs/hp.

Your car right now has 2877lbs and 197hp. This is 14.6lbs/hp. So in other words you ARE NOT far behind. The main problem is that the CL500 has something you'll never have...torque. So I'd recommend shooting for at least 9lbs/hp. That means you'll need 320hp or about 270whp (wheel horsepower as measured on a dyno).

This will be fairly simple. A good exhaust system and a bolt on turbo kit with all necessary tuning and fuel upgrades should get you there for around $5000-7000 depending on where you shop. Not bad eh? Good luck.

For a 1993 Civic SI Hatch just swap the engine and with a good driver + tires you're able to hit 12's with a stock K20A easily, for a 1999-2000 SI you just need to swap a K20A + basic bolt ons + KPRO and that is all you need to get into the 12's easily. More than enough to beat very badly almost all of the benz out there.

For the later versions of the SI 7th or 8th since is more heavier you will to do more modifications in order to achieve the same goal.

In other words isn't that hard to beat it.

It's possible with the right mods and money. A K20A is a pretty run of the mill swap nowadays and there are a lot of performance options. I would build the K20 from the inside out with forged internals and lower compression pistons. Then turbo charge it and turn up the boost to about .5 bar of boost (about 20 psi) You'll have an amazing power to weight ration and you'll be able to smoke the benz pretty easily. I'm not sure how long the motor or transmission would last though...and you'll probably have to get a limited slip diff or your going to have major traction problem.

So I am to asume that you mean the new Civics Si. Ok well you going need alot of work and get a turbo, so lets just say you stop for a min and say "hey I am going to spend about $5-8,000 to run low 13's even high 12s so I can beat this car" Ok, well lets fix your problem here, year you can get Pauter rods, Aries pistons and drop about $1800+turbo kit air to water inteercooler another $4500-5000 tune it and make about high 380s-400whp and be hitter high 13;s maybe mid with slicks and get a new clutch etc its not worth it. Let me give you a easy soultion my friend. Think 1992-1995 Civic Hatchback image a K20a motor into that not saying go buy one and swap instead of making a new Civic and building to where it wont be streetable get a 1992-1995 Civic many people on kseries.org honda-tech.com etc sell there Civics with K20's in them, the avg go for now $8000, make sure that they use Kpro, nice name brand mounts. You could spend another $2000 for slicks drag coilovers and few mods gutted and 1900lbs with 220whp many have hit low 12's almost stock even high 11's. You spank E55's E63 SL55 keep up with 911's beat Z06s spank stock Cobras and with a little spray man o man.

You could run the porsche in reverse and it would still outrun the civic. Buy the porsche, civics si's dont look quite as nice anyhow:)

Adams a homo for sayin cavi. ur lookin at aloooot of money. built motor, boosted, and tuned. but then traction becomes an issue. JP 1.0 bar is 1 atmosheric pressure or 14.7 psi....retard its not 20 at .5
