the rotor button on my 90 accord won't pull off is there a screw or clip holding it in place?

my dad left me the car i left it sitting for 1 month someone said it was problably the coil or igniter but i can't pull off the rotor button and don't want to break anything

if you dont see any nope just stuck
ive broken one or two pulling on them
they wil come off

Yes - there is a set screw on the side of the rotor. It is a bit of a pain to get to.
My guess (based on failure rates and the age of the car) is that the igniter is bad. See the first source for troubleshooting info. I recommend only Honda ignition parts (except plugs - NGKs are popular and good quality). Aftermarket parts are trouble - I've even seen a rotor shatter.
Important - never crank the engine, even just bumping the starter, with the coil output going nowhere. It will destroy the coil very quickly - see the second source for a picture of how I know. It may be moot if the igniter is bad (no coil output, you know) but why take that chance?

Yes! Alot of Honda rotor's are held on with a screw going into the shaft. It takes an 8 mm socket if I remember right.
Have someone bump the starter a little at a time or turn it over with a big ratchet at the crank bolt and watch the shaft of the rotor turn over and you will see it. It's usually 180 degrees from where the rotor tip points too.
