Hey guys so im thinking about doing an h22a DOHC Vtec swap for my 1994 accord lx auto tranny(i know the stock tranny will work). i am aware that i'll have to buy a new ecu, but can someone link me to which one i need? And i can someo0ne also link me to the prelude mounts and stuff? Ima have a pro mechanic do it for 1000 and i think its a pretty good price(hes never done the swap). also, can you give me a specific list of any additional parts that ARE required for the swap? Thank you yahoo answers for everything :]

p.s. can someone tell me how i can sucessfully pass smog with it in SJ california?

You could get a full swap from amusepm.com they will inculde engine trans motor mounts used axles and shift linkage. You could buy new mounts they sell them too. I order my Type R engine and mounts. Its not on there site email them. Runs great. You going need to convert auto to manual. Means you need 5 speed pedals clutch resovier, and few other things. The ECU will come swap.

I'm sorry, I tried to answer this question for you but the entire time I was just thinking this is not worth it.

Do not do this swap especially if you start out in auto. And I am assuming the h22a swap is going to be manual, that's just another reason not to do this swap.

2nd reason is your mechanic, since it's his first time doing this type of swap he might run into some trouble, then your cars going to get stuck in the shop for months and then he's gonna tell you he gave up and give you back a unfinished car, which you will have to tow somewhere to get it done or you'll have no more money and it'll end up in your parents backyard.

Do not go into this unless you are ready to spend some money, swaps and civic stuff can be done on a budget, but you have to know what you are doing.

passing smog in SJ california in a car like a, accord(h22 swap) is as simple as finding a smog guy who takes money under the table. I do not suggest driving from smog shop to smog shop finding this guy.

Legally, no. But done right, you should be able to pass smog without an issue.
