What's with the red Honda logos on some newer Si models?

Some civic Si cars built within the last few years have red Honda logos like this one:

I just checked Honda's website, but saw no sign of these in their photos. I've seen so many of these red logos and they look so natural that I assume it must be an option offered by Honda, not some aftermarket accessory. A little help?

the Red "H" emblems is what came on the Civic Type R (japan) if its on a Si in the US they most likely just replaced the OEM chrome H and put the Red H to make it look cool, you can buy these at japanese part wholesalers

ie...

Password JDM (etc)

see here is the page they are sold at on PWJDM

Hello, The Red H on some Honda's are the sport models. You get for instance, a Honda Civic 1.4i and the 1.6i then you get the Type-R with a red Logo which is the Sport model. The fast one. Hope it helped.

I think it largely depends on how many km the Honda City has clocked. If it is Sub-20K km, I'd say the city is a great buy. Also personally I think the VTEC is a far better buy than the Exi/Gxi which puts out <80hp, though it is more than adequate for city driving. I have not driven the Logan. I did not like its interiors one bit, but there's no doubt that it is exceptional value for money. But if you're open to used cars, I suspect you'll find even better deals on Chevy Optra 04/05 models than you'll get on a Honda City and the Optra feels like a much classier car. I would also recommend, maybe a 2005 Baleno above all these choices, even though the car is no longer in production. Great drive, great space and exceptional mileage.

The red badge is from the JDM civic type r. Actually any honda model that is a type r (eg. integra type r, nsx typ r, civic type r) sports the red honda badge. This is in japan only ofcourse. Alot of the honda tuners of course and the honda motor heads here try to immulate the type r heraitage in Japan by buying after market red honda badges and adding it to there si's or other vehicles. Too bad type r's usually dont make it state side.

The second hand Honda city might give u maintenance problems as it is old but a new car like Logan from Renault driven in France most of its components are imported. Renault has only chosen Mahindra because they wanted an channel to distribute it in India. Logan has great mileage go for petrol one it is good. Logan has great interiors you can spend 20,000 to 30,000 on its interiors. The freshness in a new car is absolutely diffrent than the stinky smell in an old car.

I believe that it is indeed an aftermarket item. It is standard on Japanese Honda Si models, but not available on American Si models. Many people want to be "JDM Tyte", so they buy the red badges for their car.

(JDM means Japanese Domestic Market, the US is USDM)

Your 'What If' question was hilarious. Especially "Dr. Fly's" answer lol. Good humor.
