i got a civic ex with a d16y8 and i am wanting to get headers for my car. i already have a skunk 2 cat- back and aem v2 intake and i want to know which combination (4-2-1 or 4-1) cause i already know that 4-1 is more for redline power and top end but i also know that isn't always true on all the cars and which headers are the best for my car. thanks

Dont listen to the first idiot. If you buy a header, make sure you pay MORE than $100, unless you get a really good deal on a Greddy, or DC Sports header. If you pay $40 for a header I GUARANTEE it will make no power or even cause you to loose power. Research and development COSTS MONEY. I work at a tuner shop that has been in business since 1993, and we dyno test alost everything we do. I have seen these EXACT same civics loose power from these "$40" headers, in some cases 3-5 HP. The EX is already HP challenged from the factory as is it only puts down about 107 HP at the wheels in stock form. The combination of a Greddy EVO2 exhaust, AEM cold air, and DC header only gives about 122 HP at the wheels. But look for a DC or Greddy header and stay FAR AWAY from the cheap ones.

DO NOT buy an ebay header. DC Sports makes a very good header. Do not expect to see too much of a gain with a header, but there will be some improvement. A good after market header weights less then the stock piece which is a plus. A 4-2-1 configuration would net you more power in the low to mid range of your power band while you'd see more power up top with a 4-1. It's up to you which to choose but considering that you are installing the header on a D-series engine, you would probably want to produce more power lower down in the power band where it is more needed and also more useable. Also, you wouldn't be buying "headers" for your car seeing as it is a inline 4 cylinder engine. You'll just need one.

i got mine on ebay for the exact same engine. it was like 60 bucks for all stainless. the ex has 129 hp. in some states the 4-1 is illegal for street. i am sure that the high end ones will perform better but how much better is debatable. i dont think it is $300 better. lets be honest, it is a civic. u want to blow doors off u better turbo it or buy a car with a big block. good luck.

All D15 and D16 intake and exhaust manifiolds are interchangeable, the bolt pattern is the same. They will not fit the B16 or B18 DOHC
