I am a HONDA tuner myself and yes a k24 will fit, as i agree with the other person who posted a comment if your asking this question you probably are not familiar with honda. As the other commenter suggested a k24 with k20 from a type s head is a great combo and one of the most expensive swaps most people only swap this if their into street racing. This swap is known as a frankenstein swap other swaps if your on a budget are a b18gsr motor from an integra a b16 from a older civic si or a b16 and crv b20 combo, this b16/b20 combo provides great head flow and the b20 has good low end torque , this covers the rpm range, I could go on about the different things you can do, just remember that only parts of the same letter stick together, k with k, b with b. if you really seriously want a k motor in your light weight civic hatch, it would be about 5 thousand, a b16 is like 2-3 grand same with a gsr, d series are a dime a dozen, and can be found for around couple hundred dollars. check junk yards for parts. =)

ok i tell you the good and bad since i do own the same car. problems first....well tiny rust spots over the rear fenders both sides but it happens to all hondas. second is the exhaust, they usually rust out. other than that everything else last for a while. these are good cars and can take a good beating. not me but alot of my friends have old hatches 88-91 civics and they beat the hell out of them. i figure as long as you do the routine maintenence it will be good. all these cars need really is good motor oil 10 w 40, and a good oil filter. you can buy a k&n air filter as well but the ones made for the cars factory box..this will help save gas more. as wel as if you need to change the spark plugs buy the ngk plugs and wires. also once a year have the radiator flushed. last the brakes you can use any ones just make sure that you take a good look at the rotors for the brakes. if they look to thin change them out. if not just buy the pads. if the car is automatic the transmission needs nothing. if its stick make sure your clutch is good every 6000 miles..this is just a precaution but better safe than sorry...other than that most of the parts are cheap and can be found in pep boys or autozone, even advanced auto. axels usually never go bad but if they do just have them removed and take them with you to any auto parts place. i think they go for 50 bucks each but you have to bring the old ones for them not to charge you the core cost.... so like i said everythings cheap and easy....if you ever have a question about this car or might be wondering about something just look me up or send me an e mail.

yes itll fit with the right mounts, you can use any kseries transmission. best head would be the k20 from rsx type-s head. If you are asking questions like this you are most likely not going to have the skill to swap it in or the money (at least 5g's). Swap a B or another D at least.
