Honda Fit Question?

Question

On a Honda Fit, when the AC is on, will it make the car really slow? Also, would this be a good car for me in highschool?

no we actually own a honda fit we got it on the fourth of july and its a great car...my son who is a senior in high school is driving this car at the present time..and its a great car..its funny and it actually isnt too bad at being slow...i make it run..and because we got the automatic sport model it has shifter tabs that you put the car in s and you shift it...if you dont it will start shifting itself this is to help you have more power...such as in passing etc....again great car the same day we bought our third civic..and although its a great car too for different reasons..the fit should get better gas mileage and the fit being a hatchback..isnt meant to be for families..where as the four door civic can be just that..and the civic has a lot of features you arent going to get on the fit..such as a sun roof the steering is only a tilt...but it does have the hook up for the ipod and the interior you can get one you dont have as many options with the fit as you do the civic..but again both great cars but for different reasons..and being hondas they both should keep their resell i know the civic does but the fit being new with the name honda..i hope ..lol

The AC will never make a car SLOW... it may not accelerate to its fullest potential because the AC has to draw some of the HP to run a condenser, but the max loss is usually in the 1-3HP range. More that you would have to worry about is the loss of gas it may cause, but that wont be much in a small car such as the FIT. It is a wonderful car for anyone, not just someone in highschool. It is both semi-sporty, and reliable. Looks pretty good... drives well, comfortable and is practical.



but usually for those who are a bit younger they look at civics which are in the same price range and get similar gas mileage and have similar features

the ac wouldnt make it slow cuz it is naturally pretty slow its suppose to be for like good gas mileage and all but you could make it faster. on another note it is a perfect car for highschool good mpg and reliable.
